Description

A weapon for the Icar Free Science Fiction RPG. A very large rifle combining pulse laser, flamers and a multilauncher. Normally it would be completely unweildy, but in the Icar universe antigravity ('grav') is used to reduce the weapon's weight (but not its inertia) to make it usable.

Not my first Icar weapon render, but the one I'm most happy with, despite (because?) its the one I've fiddled with least. I probably should have spent longer on the textures and lighting, but that's the part I like least of rendering.. modelling all the way for me.

Hopefully this looks similar to some of ~brainwipe's renders, as it is meant to be from the same setting. The handle isn't mine, it's brainwipe's from a previous model. The remainder is almost entirely NURBS, only the flamer guides (claw like things on the front) left as hard edges.

Rendered in Lightwave 7. 1569 polys all told.

It's a super piece of kit, this. Well thought out (and argued) as well as filling a gap. It's great to see you've got a handle on Nurbing, they really are very powerful.

Can you do some renders from some different angles? You can either make up a background with the renders from different angles or just load them up into your Scraps section.

I am loving it. It's completely over-the-top mental size but it's very Icarian. Over the top. Curvey. Mental.
